- Install and maintain and test electrical equipment, using hand and power tools to relevant standards
- Diagnose and repair faults
- Terminate cables to a wide range of electrical equipment
- Test and inspect installations, identify hazards, defects and ensure that compliance with relevant regulations are met
- Follow BS7671 requirements as well as published guidelines for safety, health, environmental and quality purposes. Also to comply to company procedures and policies and ensure satisfactory completion of work
- Attend training and continuous professional development opportunities as required
- Continuously look for improvements to the service and for effective good practice within the role
Skills and Competencies
- Must be competent in all aspects of electrical installations from LV distribution, containment, power and testing
- Ability understand specifications and drawings
- Full Driving Licence
Qualifications
Essential
- City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent NVQ
- City & Guilds 2382 17th Edition
- ECS/CSCS Card holder
Desirable
- City & Guilds 2391-10 Inspection and Testing (now 2394/5)
Experience
Essential
- 5 years minimum experience in the Industrial Electrical Industry
- Knowledge of 3 phase and single phase systems
- Experience in delivering scheduled/unscheduled work to time and standard in accordance with instructions
Desirable
· Familiarity of HV and heavy current LV installations
· Cable jointing skills
