Midlands Power Networks Ltd was established by Steve Holmes, Ray Heath and Martin Pilling, all former DNO (MEB) engineers, bringing practical network experience into the business from day one.
2008

MPN secured both SafeContractor and CHASaccreditation, formalising the company's commitment to safe working practices and robust site standards.

The business reached £3 million turnover, marking a strong early period of growth and repeat client confidence.

NICEIC accreditation was achieved, reinforcing technical competence and quality across electrical installation work.

ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditation followed, embedding quality management and environmental responsibility into day-to-day operations.

Operations in Stoke-on-Trent moved to Galveston Grove to support the next stage of expansion.

Tharusha Govenderjoined the business as MPN's first female Design and Tendering Engineer, an important step in the continued development of the team.

The resignation of founding Directors Ray Heath and Martin Pilling marked a major change for the business, with Midlands Power Networks becoming a family-owned company.

Michael Lowe joined as LV Business Manager, strengthening the company's low voltage capability and helping position MPN as a full turnkey partner for commercial and industrial electrical projects.
Turnover reached £10 million.

Continued LV expansion required a further change of premises as the business grew.
MPN delivered its first 20MW BESS project and achieved Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation.
The business also hosted a charity football event in support of Rotherham Hospice.

The Stoke-on-Trent office was extended to support the growing team and wider service offering.
MPN also secured UKAS-accredited ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification and reached £15 million turnover.

Bradley Collett, a Rebus Training Ltd apprentice, received Apprentice of the Year, reflecting the strength of the company's training and development culture.
MPN also reached 50 employees, achieving Medium Enterprise status.
